Pushing?

First time mom, due December. Just wondering exactly how you’re supposed to push out the baby? Do you just push like you’re pooping or what? What if you have an epidural? How do you even know if you’re pushing if you can’t feel anything?

To me with epidural it feels like pressure and like you have to poop I didn’t like that so my last two pregnancies I went natural and the feeling was way different I actually felt like I had to push instead of the feeling of having to poop.

My body just took over and pushed, I don't remember having to tell myself to push it just happened. I didn't have an epidural though so I imagine it's different

I couldn't feel anything with my epidural they had to tell me every time I needed to push, it made it a lot harder for me. But yes they will tell you to push like you're pooping lol also I'll add the epidural made pushing harder for me physically but the process still was smooth and only 13 mins!

Push like you're popping. I had an epidural and I was able to feel when I needed to push. I felt pressure but no pain. Aside from needing the epidural twice since it failed the first time I had a great experience with it. I pushed for less than a half hour

You push like your pooping. I had an epidural both times and my first I could still feel a ton of pressure come 9 cms. I didn’t need anyone to tell me when to push. My second, I didn’t feel a thing. First time the doctor checked me I was 10cms and he said “you don’t feel anything?” So they turned it down and I could feel enough to know when to push within about 15-20 mins.

I felt absolutely zero pressure with my epidural but ironically could still feel my contractions in the top of my uterus which was really helpful to know when to push. For me, each push I held my breath, closed my eyes and pushed...your body will know. I did 7/8 practice pushes then they told me to stop so they could go get the doctor and 2 pushes later, my little man was out!

Push like you’re having a bowel movement. You can still feel pressure with an epidural so you push against the pressure.

Yeah just like your pooing.. And your doctor will help coach you to mine kept telling me how to push when I wasn't doing it right, you will feel pressure down there just not pain so you will know if your doing right.. Good luck 😊😊😊

Yes you push like you're pooping and just because you have an epidural doesn't mean you don't feel anything it's just less painful.
