Induction

I have the choice of being induced or waiting it out. I’m 36 weeks right now and my baby boy is weighing 7 pounds as of a week ago and is measuring 2-3 weeks ahead. They recommended I be induced because of his size and with him being my first they want me to have an easier delivery. I guess my question is should I wait it out or be induced? I’ve heard horror stories of inductions and just want some advice from people who have personally experienced it.
