Is his flat head really bad?

For you mommies out there who have seen flat heads, do you think this is really bad? I know it’s kinda hard to see in the pictures. He has torticollis so his right side on the back of his head is flatter while his left side is more round. He’s gonna be 4 mo on the 19th and his appt is on the 22nd. We have a zoom appt with a specialist for his torticollis. I’m wondering if theyregonna suggest a helmet. Thanks!

To shape my baby head I used wave caps I would have him sleep in them every night and honestly it worked.... N have him lay on his tummy n sides

My son had the same thing, and looked actually worse than your son if that makes you feel better! Helmets are very rare where we live (Australia) though. We saw a physio who gave us exercises to do that would help get his neck to turn both ways, as well as a little special halo pillow for bedtimes. Once he started rolling and crawling etc it evened out and his head is now fine (he's 3 years old). I was so worried about it at the time but I hope I can reassure you that with time and perhaps some exercises, it does get better (even without a helmet).
