Can I refreeze meat?

Question

I bought sausages, froze them, then put them  them in the fridge 2 days ago to unfreeze to make for dinner tonight. But change of plans. I don’t want them to go to waste, but if I leave them again in the fridge one more day they’ll go bad. So I was wondering if it would be safe to just throw them back in the freezer or not?

I wouldn’t. But during times like this, I always cook it plain so I can freeze it cooked.

Yes you can refreeze it. Either that or cook them real quick then refreeze. You're ok either way.

My dad worked in the meat department for 10yrs he said yes to refreezing meat. He said if you cook it in a casserole, or soup; it's okay for you to refreeze it.

Google says it’s safe to do so but i was always told not to. I imagine it wouldn’t taste as good
