Ear infection??

My daughter is 11 months old and currently teething. Yesterday I noticed she was pulling on her ear, and it was red compared to the other side. I checked to see if maybe something was bothering her, or her earring, she didn’t cry or anything, so I though nothing of it. Today I see her pulling on her ear again. I told my husband and he gently poked her ear to see if it causes some kind of pain or whatever. But she didn’t cry or nothing. So I guess my question is.. is it possible to have an ear infection with no pain or fever??? Could it be something else and what??
