How do I tell her I want to fix it?

I went to the hair salon today and I went in with a very specific goal in mind, I brought a picture and I brought my extensions I wanted to match. I made sure to mention that I didn’t want it to blend to the extensions, I wanted my hair to match because I just wanted my hair to be that color with or without extensions. I also mentioned the exact tone I wanted and that I just wanted one color...
I went there because I tried to match my hair to my extensions myself and it turned out darker...
My problem was even after I told her all of this, she still wasn’t understanding and she still didn’t know what I wanted somehow and when I left 6 hours later it wound up being my natural hair all over again...
I was upset because I spent a LOT of money at this place (which I understand because of product, service, and time) but I just felt like if I wanted my natural hair I could have obviously had that for free...

This is the color I dyed it myself (dark strawberry blonde— more brownish)

These are my extensions that I brought to her and had out the whole time (very light vivid strawberry blonde— more orange toned)

Now I just need some advice on what to do... I didn’t want to be rude at all in the moment and I still don’t want to be rude to her at all, but I do want her to get the correct color... Should I go back? 
I just don’t understand... it wasn’t even a dramatic change like black to blonde or some crazy hair color or platinum or something... it was me simply asking for ginger hair that I already kind of had but more vivid....
Should I go somewhere else? 
I just don’t want to keep wasting my money on something that will keep damaging my hair

Honey you're not being rude telling her that she f***** up. If she will not fix it go to another place and make sure the person that's doing your hair has been doing here longer than 10 years and has training all areas.

I don’t think it’s rude at all to go back. My hair got messed up once and I just went somewhere else. I thought about going back, but since they messed it up the first time I didn’t have much faith in them to be able to fix it. That’s something to think about. But it’s definitely not rude to ask them to fix it! Tell her you weren’t exactly sure it wasn’t right when you were there but when you got home you realized it was not right.

You need to go back and tell them. I understand it’s awkward to go back and feeling like a jerk, but you paid for a service that isn’t what you wanted. Like you said, you spent a lot of money. You don’t just walk away unsatisfied.

Color correction can be a process. Sometimes washing it once or twice will lighten it. But you should tell her immediately within 48 hours that you aren’t happy with it. Most honorable stylists will redo it at their cost. But if she redoes it at no charge and you like what she does the second time then you should tip her.
Color chemistry can be difficult to manage if the client has prior dyed hair. She should have used a color remove product along with olaplex or similar and then lightened and applied new color. If you only had virgin hair before you dyed it (was it a cheap box dye or a quality brand? You don’t say) color remove should have removed it easily especially considering red tone is easy to remove (colors like black or blue can be way more difficult - red usually fades very quickly if not using a deposit shampoo and conditioner) Anyway, she would have had to remove the dye you did and lifting color sometimes can be tricky because it can be hard to predict what comes out and what gets left behind.

I would take the extensions in with you and show her what you want. It’s hard to get an exact color from just looking at a picture. Take your extensions in with you and show her the color of them. It’ll be a really easy fix honestly. I’m a hairdresser so I understand it’s frustrating not getting a super perfect match

A good hairdresser will appreciate that you were honest and came back! Just bring in the extensions so she knows what you are looking for. It could have been difficult to get you as light as you wanted since she was breaking through old haircolor. If you don’t feel comfortable going back to that stylist, ask for a more experienced one at the same salon so they can hopefully give you credit for a fix.
