How old was your child when you started potty training them?

Did you go hard with it right away or did you slowly ease them into it? How long did it take them to get it? How long until they were completely potty trained. 
Any tips for this first time mama?
My son just turned two and I’ve been wanting to start potty training for about 6 months now 🤦🏻‍♀️ I just ended up pregnant and heard they regress, Ive been SO tired this pregnancy, and we have carpet, so didn’t bother. 
But I can’t help but feel like I’m holding him back now. He likes to play with it. We started saying bye when I flush the toilet. I figured I’ll slowly go into it. But idk...thoughts?

Two is a good age. I recommend Oh Crap! Potty Training! It’s really, really stressful for a while! But you should go big or go home for sure.

We got a potty and tried around 2 but he was having none of it. He liked playing with the potty but was not at all interested in using it. I got pregnant around then too and my mom told me he’d probably regress so potty training probably wasn’t worth the effort. We kept the potty out and talked about it a ton and ended up following his lead. He potty trained at 3.5, he took off his diaper and used the potty completely on his own one morning so I got rid of the diapers. He was completely pee trained within 7 days and poop trained about a month later. It was easier than I’d expected.

I tried around 2 with my daughter but she wasn’t interested. I think she was just over 2.5 when we tried again. I got this book I think called “Oh Crap” (or something along those lines lol) that had a whole system on how to do it effectively. She didn’t have a single accident the first few days and had it down completely after a couple weeks. I’ve heard if you try too early that it can take longer but idk how true that is. Good luck!!

Started with my daughter at about 22 or 23 months. We did not push it and just went slowly (I was home all day with the pandemic so there wasn’t a sense of urgency). She’s 27 months now and almost fully potty trained. She would never be wet if I made her go every 2 hours. But sometimes I forget to take her and she’s only just starting to tell me when she needs to go. She been in underwear for 3 months. Naptime and bedtime trained as well, but that’s more just a natural occurrence.

I tried with my daughter just shy of 2, she wasn’t interested. Tried again a little after she turned 2, still not interested. I ended up waiting until closer to 2 1/2 and she got the hang of things pretty quickly! My best advice is wait until they’re ready, I use to think that was the most bogus advice but it’s really true.

My first was really advance started telling us when he had to poop and pee at 1 1/2!!! I was so proud and started right away (as I had just giving birth to my second) he did great and we were going to move to underwear when he had an accident in the tub when I was changing his brothers diaper because he couldn’t get himself out (he was yelling poop momma poop! And I was just like please don’t let there be poop in the tub but of course I knew better). 
After he accidentally pooped in the tub he was scarred he hated seeing poop in his toilet and would cry to get in the tub (which was his favorite thing ever).
It took about 6 months and when he was 2 we started trying again and he did amazing. Within a few weeks he was in underwear and fully potty trained before 2 1/2. But my son doesn’t like being dirty AT ALL like nothing even his clothes.
My second will be 2 next month and he has no issues sitting in poopy diapers without telling me and when I ask him about the potty he wants nothing to do with it. I think I’ll try when he’s nearly 3 as well...not what I want but I gotta go at his pace.

We had a potty out and started talking about it and sitting him when he turned one. We kept it out where he could see it and just sit (whether dressed or not). We did not seriously start until after he turned 2 and he was fully trained by 3.
