Love....Does it really happen when you aren’t looking?

Does it really happen like that? Like out of no where? I’m just feeling kinda hopeless like I’ll never have my person. I don’t drive and am not working at the moment (ssi) so I just feel like who would want that. Was with someone for 7 months after a 10.5 year narcissistic relationship and I really thought he was the one, but it wasn’t what he wanted he said so now I’m just kinda hopeless. I’d love some advice and or words of encouragement. I’d also love to hear some experiences and stories on how you found your person ❤️

I think love can absolutely happen when you’re not looking for it but you have to be willing to give people a chance. 
Our story- I was in a 3 year relationship with a man-child that I had just ended. I had just turned 30 and couldn’t believe I spent the last of my 20’s on someone I was never going to have a future with. I had mentally resigned myself to being alone and just fostering tons of cats for the rest of my life. Two weeks later I went to my brother’s baby shower and met one of his friends. He was younger and in the military and moving in a few months. I figured having a fling wouldn’t hurt and I’d have an easy out when he moved. 2 years later and we live 2300 miles from where met and are very happily married and trying for our first baby.

What happened to me, I was always engaging with new people, I had this desire to have someone love me, hug me when I want kiss me etc before the new year around December I decided to focus on myself, didn’t really care for that type of stuff anymore and a few months later I stumbled upon the man of my dreams😍 he is perfect for me, and we are thinking of marriage

I found my husband after getting out of a 7 year on and off toxic relationship and I wanted nothing to do with dating. I had no intention of getting romantic with anyone and then there he was out of nowhere, the perfect man for me. I believe in God so for me it was all really divine, but I do think when you’re not looking for someone and you’re living for yourself, you have a better chance of meeting the right person for you.

So I met my husband when I was 13, he was 14. My parents worked with his dad and uncle. They'd have poker parties on the weekends. Switching which house hosted. So that's how I met him. He was "off limita" because he was my dad's friend's son and dad didn't want teen romance to mess up a friendship. We just stayed friends. At 18 I met a volunteer firefighter, he was also 18 at the time. Eventually he joined the military, active duty. We got married at 20 right before he went to his first duty station. We're from Oregon. First station was Florida. 3000+ miles from home. A week after moving/being married I found out he had been cheating during his 14 month stint in BMT and Tech school. (Around the same time my now husband got married to another lady.) Started marital counseling, things got better. Then the physical abuse started. 1 1/2 yrs after getting married we filed divorce papers. I headed to Oklahoma where my grandpa lives. I stayed there for about 10 months. Met another guy about 6 months after filing foe divorce. He decided to move to Oregon with me. At this time my now husband was also starting the process of divorce (I dont want to tell his story. To save space.) New guy ended up not working out. For several reasons. He was just a gross person. Like let the cat puke on the bed and then just cover it with his pillow for weeks, gross. A year after I came home (2 yrs after my divorce, 1 yr after my husband's) We started talking more. Just as friends helping each other through similar situations. Which led to dating. And eventually 3 pregnancies, 2 miscarriages, a gorgeous daughter, and being married. We've been together for 5 1/2 yrs. Our parents were thrilled. Legit. They're still best friends lol but now they're family. They watched us grow up. I mean we've known each other for over half our lives. And now they get to watch our daughter grow up ❤

It happened for me when I wasn’t looking. I had just gotten out of a 5 year relationship 2 weeks before I met my husband. I almost didn’t give him a chance since I was newly single but I’m so glad I did! Next month we’re celebrating 10 years together and 7.5 years married. We have 2 beautiful girls!

I was never  believer but I am cus it worked for me
When I was still in horrible relationship  I was still using dating site there was games so I was always on there to play one day I got messages some guy flirting with me so I basically  told him to bug off since I was dating jerk but 4 months later I was single just playing games that say guy messaged me again this time he thought it would be cool to act to ack like jerk kinda being pervert so I told him to leave me alone not in good mood etc then he apologize and explain  why he was asking like that to him he thought he could get gf like that it was so stupid but funny how he thought like that so I just kept talking to him since he was cheering me up told him I'm not looking for relationships he was fine so we kept on talking since we had a lot in common 2 months of none stop texting and phone calls I feel for him  I just texted him "rawr"  (means I love you in dinosaurs) to see if he would understand were both nerds like that so I had good feelings  he would know which he did
We been together since 2012 married in 2015

Absolutely for me and my SO we had worked together for over 2 years and never considered a relationship because we both were with other people me having been with my ex for 6 years and by the end of the 6th year I was so unhappy and I just wanted out of my relationship partly because I had started having an interest in my current SO and didn't feel right continuing a relationship when my heart wasn't in it so I ended my relationship and me and my current SO are now 2 years in with our first baby on the way, our own home and I've never been treated better than by this man he makes me incredibly happy

For me it did. I was actually committed to being single when I met my SO. And he kissed me, not knowing I wanted to be single for a while, and 2 years later were so in love.
