Is it normal??

Question

I’m 38 weeks and I’ve noticed that baby boy moves less than ever. He moves but just not that much or often.
Should I call the doctor or wait til Monday (that’s my appointment)

Go to the hospital, let them monitor babies heartbeat .... better to put your mind at ease knowing baby is ok.

Baby is probably fine. Could be your placenta is anterior and leaves you unable to feel kicks as often or it could be that the baby is moving less because you’re so close to giving birth. I had something similar happen to me. Was terrified and went to the hospital. Turned out my placenta was anterior. Could barely feel her move.

I just went into L&D for this tonight. My daughter wasn’t moving around a lot when I was doing my usual kick counts. I tried everything I could to get her moving then laid back down to focus on just her movements and only felt 3 in an hour. They hooked me up to the fetal monitor and did a non stress test. That means that they monitor her for 20 minutes to an hour to see regular movements. My girl started moving and we were there for 40 minutes then got sent home.

My doctors policy is if you feel less movement at any time you go to the hospital for monitoring (or the office if it’s opened).

I would call. When I was pregnant with my twins this happened many times in the last month. I was always admitted because one of the babies was giving us a hard time and something was always off. But it's always better to be safe.
