Hard to burp?

Is anyone else having issues getting baby to burp now that they're older? Mine went from burping really well to barely burping at all but then she gets fussy and is gassy. Generally I'll hold her and pat and get no burp but then 5 or 10 minutes later she will burp on her own.

Yes, so what I do now is put her over the shoulder and lean back so her belly is pressing into my chest. Huge plus is that it can be an ab workout for me when there's nothing behind me.

Mine was and I was normally burping him while on my chest but now I see more success with him sitting upright and my holding him under his chin

Mine either has to be on his belly or patted on his butt.
