My son keeps eating his diaper

Hello my son is 10 1/2 months and keeps ripping off the sides of his diaper to eat it. I put pants on him and he takes his pants off now. When I put a onesie on him he just rips the little flaps out of the side. I tried giving him snacks and toys to keep him occupied but it doesn’t work. I’m so worried he’s going to choke or get sick. I don’t know what to do! Any suggestions??
