Laid off at 16 weeks pregnant

Hi everyone, I received shocking news this week that my contract will not be extended and of course nothing to do with pregnancy just my performance. My manager knew about it already from 8 weeks that I am pregnant.

I live in the netherlands so quite expensive country to survive. I will get some unemployment benefit for couple of months which is 30% of my last salary but it will be extremely hard for us soon to be family of 4. My husband earns way less than me, less than half what I was making. I worked in IT.

I must say it hit me hard, I was crying last 2 days, lost my mojo completely, feel as horrible mother to my daughter who is just 2 years old.

I reached out for some help to my midwife but got nothing in return. I will not be able to find new job due to pregnancy, I had some calls but I was immediately rejected when I mentioned pregnancy. If I don't say I am pregnant I will get a job but it will be extremely hard to keep it though. Sadly it is not country of short term assignments unless you are freelancer but this impact negatively your unemployment benefit.

I wonder if anyone went through such tough times and have some tips on how to deal with it in some positive way. I am so scared of my baby health due to situation, I cant sleep or eat.....

I am worried I will stay unemployed forever because if I take break of a year to focus on baby who is going to hire me when my knowledge in IT will already expire.
