Am I a bad mother for taking my 4 year old daughter to get her ears pierced?

My 4 year old daughter has been asking to get her ears pierced since January, as she loves my earrings. She brought it up every other day and I explained it would feel like a shot but it would be very quick.

After months of persisting my husband and I took her to get her ears pierced, which she did cry for a minute but loves her new earrings.

Some of my family members are acting as if I abused her by doing this and being very judgmental asking me why on earth I would listen to her and do this. I got my ears pierced as a baby.

Isnt this normal to get their ears pierced once they want to? Should I have waited?
