His Friends Came To See Him

I feel like I saw a little bit of my the person my son used to be again. I haven't been sending him to school since I found out about the sexual assault that was going on. We are all still learning how to move forward. Today his friends came knocking on the door asking if he was okay because they haven't seen him at school lately. I went to ask my son if I could let them in and he said sure. He came downstairs and they asked where he had been. He just said "Personal stuff". They all stayed over and hung out with him staying they've missed having him around. My son started to look like a normal teenager again. It was so sweet that they felt worried and came to the house to check up on him. One of his friends asked me if he can come with them to their uncles lake house for the weekend. I said It's fine. They ended up having to leave at 5. I told my son I think it will be good for him to go to the lake, but he said he doesn't know. His friends don't know what happened to him and how it caused him to start wetting the bed, so he's kinda embarrassed to go. I told him his friends cared enough that they were worried about you and came to see you when you weren't showing up to school. He just shrugged and changed the subject. Im not gonna force him to go if he doesn't want to. I think it would be good for him though. I'm just happy I got to see a glimpse of my son's personality. I think he needed his friends more than he realized.
