73 follicles (73!) and PCOS

Update: Retrieval went well today! Got 54 eggs, still in shock and curious how many are viable in the end. No sign of OHSS yet but want to thank you all for the tips! Appreciate them! Baby dust to all!

Hi all and hope you all are having the best of luck!

I have my retrieval tomorrow and yesterday in my last ultrasound they counted 73 follicles, 50 of which were mature. I feel like I should submit myself to National Geographic! I was just praying for 10! Have any of you had a super high count? How many made it to viable options in the end? I’m nervous because PCOS gives you a high count but not necessarily quality. Granted, we just need 1 to work but curious if we’ll have a huge drop off.

My fertility journey is 20 years long including 2 surgeries, lots of different meds and diets, endometriosis, PCOS, and 1.5 years of IUIs. All to get us to this moment with

cycle. I’m excited to be healthy enough finally to try

but we are only doing this 1 round. I need to move on to a new chapter of being a parent (whether through adoption or pregnancy) so I’m excited about the 73 follicles! Maybe I’ve been praying too hard? 😂
