If you tip on app, do you tip in person too?

Let’s say you place an order for delivery. If you tip the person on the app, do you have to tip them again? I tipped on the app $7 for a $14 order, when he came to drop it off, he look at me like he expected more tip?? Was I a dick for not tipping more, or for not tipping in cash as well?

I tip one way or the other. Not both.

As a delivery driver, we don’t expect tips on both. If people feel inclined to tip more at the door, that’s cool. But if it’s already done  electronically, it’s ultimately the same thing as being tipped in cash. When I worked at Domino’s, they taxed our tips so we had a few people that knew that and tipped cash.

I always tip cash at the door whenever possible because the former server in me says fuck the IRS. Tips shouldn't be taxed. But I would never expect to be tipped twice, and I certainly wouldn't give anyone grief over the way they tip.
