It’s bothering me how do I throw it away

My doctor put me on amitripline (probably spelled it wrong who cares) for a migraine prevention.

Well i do NOT react well to this med so he took me off of it. I have two huge full bottles of the medication and I don’t wanna keep it of course.

There’s no use for it, so I was going to throw it away.

How do I throw it away? Should I flush all the pills? Should I dump them out and then throw the bottle away? Do I take my name off the bottle first? It’s been sitting on my kitchen cabinet for an hour because i don’t know how to dispose of it properly
