How does your husband discipline?

How does your husband/baby’a father discipline your toddler ages 1 and up?
During tantrums, back talk, yelling?
my girl 18 months, when she gets real bad, like those quick screeching screams he will quickly and sternly yell “hey” and she stops and covers her face. Most of the time we try to talk to her and he will get on her level and try to understand her but sometimes he will get alittle stern and kind of loud(he has a deep voice)

i don’t think there’s anything wrong with using a stern voice. my 2 year old will straight up ignore us if we don’t use a firm deep and louder than normal voice to get his attention. if he was screaming at the child that would be a different story, but it doesn’t sound like he’s doing anything harmful to me.

Sometimes that loud stern “Hey!” gets their attention faster. Just like a little tap on the bottom kinda shocks them and they stop what they are doing.

This is my husband all the time with my 20 month old. He is no nonsense. It works sometimes but sometimes he is just wanting my baby to do what he wants him to and my son just not understanding him. I often have to explain to him that out slon is young and gets frustrated because he can't effectively communicate.

A stern shouting at won’t hurt anyone. I mean if he’s screaming at the too if his lungs there’s a problem but children need to know what is not acceptable and it’s the parents job to teach them that!

He does the same thing. I even have a “look” I give him when I want him to use his “dad voice”.

I don’t think your husband is doing anything wrong. Mine laughs and it makes me mad. My husband acts like our son can’t be disciplined because he’s too young to understand. He’s 21 months and when he understands. When he’s looking to see who’s watching before he does something he knows he shouldn’t he understands. When he does something and then says bad bad he understands he shouldn’t be doing it. So your husband’s method is far better than mine.

Same as that, which is also what I do. Sometimes we need to be a little more stern or a little louder to get their attention and to express this isn’t a fun time for anybody.

There is nothing wrong with what he did. My husband can do this with all of our kids and there is no issues going forward 😂they’re almost 2 ,almost 10 and almost 13. Now if I yell they all look at me and the. Go back to what they were doing 😂 but on the flip side I’m with them 24/7 literally bc we home school lol
