Toddler dropping last nap
When did your toddler drop their last nap? What were the signs of it being time for this to happen?
My son just turned 2. He has always been a good napper, but was early to drop his 3rd nap and early to drop his 2nd nap. He has been having just 1 nap per day since he was about 10 months old. Anyway, recently he has not been interested in taking his nap. Some days he does fall asleep, like in the car, in the stroller. But has politely refused his nap at home. So, should we see this as a sign that he doesn’t always need a nap or should we continue pushing the nap?
Also, what happened when your toddler did eventually give up that last nap? Were they more irritable, more tired at bedtime, did they fight night time sleep? Finally, could this be a phase, an effect of a regression or leap? Do they need an earlier bedtime or should we just treat it as a transition to dropping a nap?
