Do FET after 1st or 2nd period cycle?

Hi ladies, I did my ER recently and is waiting for my period to come. 
My doctor recommend to wait until my 2nd period cycle to do FET. Was wondering if it’s the same for you ladies? Was hoping to do FET once my period arrived.

I guess I waited until my second period stopped,  but that was after a fresh cycle resulted in a chemical.

I did my FET after 1st period even after having OHSS with my egg retrieval. Transferred 1 embryo (no genetic testing) and currently 29w pregnant. Maybe they just want to make sure your hormones have some more time to normalize 🤷‍♀️. I was planning to do a fresh but was told I couldn’t when my estrogen got too high before retrieval
