How to know if I’m over feeding my baby?

So I have a 3 day old baby she often will take mini￼ breaks in between nursing sessions not like breaks but more like pauses she eats about every 2-3 hours so I just don’t know if I’m over feeding her or not how do you know?

Definitely does not sound like you are over feeding. It’s nearly impossible to overfeed a breastfed baby, particularly if you are nursing rather than pumping and bottle feeding.

The lactation consultant told me nursing is like an aerobic activity for a newborn and takes a lot of energy so it’s normal for them to pause or take a break from being tired, not from eating too much. Every baby is different, mine was cluster feeding for the first few months.. she ate alllll the time.

A breastfed baby can’t be over fed 😊 that’s a very normal amount of time between feedings.
