I am a terrible mother

I am in tears. I cannot believe this happened. When picking up my girls from daycare today, my daycare provider who was holding my youngest, set my baby in her car seat (she does not strap them for safety purposes) while she helped my toddler get her shoes on. We were busy chatting about the day, when my toddler was begging to get in the car to go home. Standing up in a hurry we get outside. Next thing I know my toddler yells “chase me mom!” Running the opposite direction. I quick snap my baby’s car seat in place & chase after my toddler. After a tantrum & tears while buckling her safely into her seat & trying to calm her down. We leave. Not until I get home 15 MINUTES later, do I realize.. I NEVER STRAPPED MY BABY INTO HER CARSEAT. She rode the entire way unstrapped. She would have been completely at the worst possible outcome if we would have gotten into an accident . I am so sick to my stomach of what could have been. I am so upset & pissed off at myself that I could have been so foolish. 😭😭😭
