Does anyone else think the family court is unjust?

I’m finding it really hard right now, almost defeated. 
All I have right now is my family, attorney & God 
It is insane to me how the system does not take psychology and other issues into an account when custody battles and co parenting decisions are being made. 
This moment has made me want to become a huge activist on incorporating psychological and emotional trauma into the system!!

Im not sure unjust is the right word, however it does have many flaws. Many states are known for being “pro mother”, some courts are influenced by familial reputations and money. Even constant documentation isnt enough evidence in cases like those. 
Due to both of those situations I’ve always felt that custody cases need to be blind.  Instead of Sally and Mark, it needs to be Parent A and Parent B. 
However when mental health is something worth noting, as long as they are seeking treatment and maintaining it- that should not bear too much weight on custody

Yup! My brothers ex has been accused of neglect by basically everyone that has met her (preschool, teachers, etc.) and the courts will always give her joint custody. She’s partaken in dangerous behavior (being high around the kids, posting it online, etc.) and still nothing has happened because of it.

I think it’s situational and also depends on the judge you get and how good the attorneys are at their job. Without giving too much information, I know someone in a custody battle. He is an amazing father and the mother is extremely troubled and has been diagnosed with all sorts of issues. The court is absolutely taking it very seriously because it is relevant to the case at hand. It’s always situational. Unfortunately.

Been in family court with my husband for the whole 8 years we’ve been married and he had been since she was born 11 years ago. It’s absolutely unjust. I could go on and on. It’s fucking tragic.

Each situation is different. It goes case by case. If someone needs psychological help and hasn't gotten it then they need to have that help before the courts can allow certain things.
