There’s this guy that likes me and I think he’s cute in the face, we get along well for the most part, haven’t known each other long. I’ve only ever dated or been with guys that are thinner or muscular in a way and this guy is kind of heavyset, there’s nothing wrong with that but I’m just having a hard time going for it because it’s not my type i go for🤦🏻‍♀️ I feel stupid for that but I can’t help it. ADVICE PLEASE

Weather we want to believe it or not appearance plays a huge role in how we feel about our partner. If you're not attracted to them then it more than likely won't work. Nothing to do with being shallow but attraction, sexual attraction, exc all plays an important part in a relationship.

My current boyfriend is not my type, but I decided to go out on a date with him and just give him a chance (we met online). He had longer hair, which I didn’t think I’d like, but I decided that it was something that I could live with if we hit it off. When we met in person, we had instant sparks. We got to know each other better, and his hair isn’t an issue at all for me...in fact I actually love it now. 
I think it’s important to date outside of your normal type. You never know what will happen if you don’t try. If you go out a couple times, and there are no sparks, it’s fine. Not everyone you go out with will be dating/marriage material for you. If you don’t give him a chance, you’ll never know if you missed out on something that could have been real. 
Truthfully, I’m not really my boyfriend’s normal type either BUT I don’t doubt for a second he loves me for who I am and how we mesh together so well.

I used to go for the skinny tattooed artistic type they all ended up being 💩.  Then I met my hubby, like I could do laundry on his stomach and he looked like he worked out at the gym 4 hours a day, he seemed overconfident but then I got to know him. He's the smartest person I know and he's not afraid of anything.  Best decision I ever made. And he does have one big tattoo on his thigh.

I have dated every shade of the rainbow, every body type, every financial type, to me it’s how someone treats me. They respect me, they treat me well, Looks can fade. I’ve been with guys who look like models, I’ve been with a guy whose nickname was the mutant because he was almost albino white. I dated two guys at the same time, polar opposites tall skinny white guy 180 pounds and another guy who was about 270 pounds and sweet as can be. All depends on how they treated me, how they made me a priority, how much effort they put in, you grow to care and you grow to love someone by how they treat you. Attraction sometimes comes later because you see them in a different light. The way they interact with children or how well they are to pets or your family. It may not be that hot and heavy, oh my gosh he’s so hot type of thing with this guy, but at the same token, if you really have no intention of being with him, I wouldn’t waste his time or lead him on to think that you do. ￼
