He Says He Likes Everybody?

So I feel like my boyfriend's best friend likes him. He's always saying things like sweetie and boo. His friend is gay. I always thought my boyfriend was straight. I figured since he's straight I would have nothing to worry about. I did tell him I think he likes him and my boyfriend said no thats just how he is. I jokingly asked my boyfriend if he would ever date a guy and he said "Ummm... hmmm.. maybe". I was pretty shocked. I said "Are you not straight ". He said " Well I like everyone. I have to have a close connection with that person. If I have a close connection I can be attracted whether they are male, female, trans, hell even non binary(I have no idea what that is)." It just threw me off that he likes EVERYONE. Like... If he likes everyone then he will definitely cheat right?
