Boyfriend wants a vasectomy

My boyfriend and I have decided that we don’t want children. It was a let down, but not a dealbreaker. My doctors told me that I would be highly at risk of miscarrying if we ever decided that we would want to ttc. I think that it is for the best, but I am quite sad. We had been talking about how cute our baby would be and the places we’d bring it etc.

I’ve been on birth control for almost 8 years and he wants to get a vasectomy because he sees how bad the mental toll of it is.

I haven’t told anyone or if I even should. I don’t want people asking us “When are you having kids?” because we aren’t.

I love my boyfriend and respect his decision. Things are getting real now as he plans on getting the procedure early next year.
