Any tips on helping baby sleep alone and through the night?

My son is 3months old and the second I put him in his bassinet he wakes up. Sometimes we get lucky and he’ll sleep 3-4 hours but I’ll have to be holding him or laying next to him in my bed.

My baby was the same way . I put my TShirt that I wore that day in the bassinet. I put it over the mattress and tuck the sleeves down under so it’s tight fitting like a fitted sheet , obviously we all know your not supposed to put any loose items in there . While I am changing and feeding him I place a heating pad in there to warn it up some and take it out right before I lay him down . I also use a sound machine.

I love the advice from taking Cara babies. Look her up on Instagram or her blog. I’ve followed her newborn course from week 2 or 3 and I swear it’s helped us so much! 
Keep trying. Baby has to learn how to do literally everything. Has no idea how to sleep in a bassinet, without you holding him. You do whatever is best for you and your baby.  But if you want him to learn how to sleep I dependently, you have to teach him. 
My boy is 3 months. He sleeps somewhere between 6 and 8 hours in the bassinet, wakes up to nurse, then back down for between 2-4 hours. (Some nights are weird and these timeframes are like maybe 5hrs and then every 2hrs.) he naps during the day for about 40mins at a time. 
If you’re not already using one, I highly recommend a sound machine! It’s a great “cue” for baby that this is time to sleep. Use it during all naps and night time.

I’ve seen wheee moms have used heating pads in bassinet or crib to lay baby down in a warm space instead of being cool when they are laid down. I would research safest way as I’m sure the heating pad would need to be on slow setting and even have a blanket or pillow case on it to protect baby. But worth a google search to check into it. Also if you aren’t already, start a soothing bed time routine. Warm bath with lavender soap/lotion, a good feeding. Maybe even try some soothing music playing quietly. Good luck!

I just bought the baby marlin magic sleep suit and it supposed to help your baby sleep through the night. I will be trying it tonight and hopefully it works from the reviews I read it works and most of the moms said their baby slept all night or would only wake up once during the night with the sleep suit.
