Baby #2?

So, I just had my first baby on August 19th, and oddly enough, I'm already finding myself wanting to do it all over again... I don't want it to be too soon, but I also don't want to wait too long. I am on the mini pill, and we use condoms, so we are taking the precautions not to conceive right now, but I just can't shake the thought lol. Anyone else go through this? How long did you wait before having baby #2? Open to any and all advice, suggestions, words, whatever lol

From a medical and safety (for you and future baby) standpoint it’s highly recommended to wait until 18m pp to try again. Your body went through major trauma both from pregnancy and labor/delivery. Your body needs to heal.

I was pregnant again 4 months PP. my OB was 100% okay with it. We talked at my 6 week check and agreed I wouldn’t go on birth control. My husband and I wanted our kids close in age. I had no complications either pregnancy and both my kids are incredibly healthy; no problems with either delivery either. 18M between pregnancies is based on an average. Talk to your doctor if you’d like to TTC again before then.

Girl, I TOTALLY understand. I was ready for baby #2 like 4 months after having the 1st. Got pregnant at 7-8 months PP, had a miscarriage, then got pregnant again right when she turned 1! They’re 21 months apart. Also, I had #2, in the car on the way to the hospital, just my husband and I, no EMS. It was actually a beautiful experience! Anyway, I’m due with #3 in March, who was conceived right after my 2nd turned 1. I LOVE my age gaps. And my OB told me I was cleared to get pregnant at 12 weeks PP!

I went through a period after our first was born where I missed being pregnant, I actually thought about labor often and got envious of anyone who was about to give birth lol. It fizzled out after a few months. We wanted to wait until our daughter was almost 3 to have a second, but we had a surprise pregnancy when she was almost 2...having baby #2 in two weeks.

Soon your baby will be a tantrum throwing toddler and running around screaming and climbing on everything. Hold off. My kids are going to be about two years apart. It’s going to be tough, but I do want them close in age.

I just came to say i love the name choice 😏 our #2 is Aria 😊 I have 3.5 years between #1 and #2 and the age gap is perfect. My first was old enough to understand and now aria is 15 months they 'play' nicely most of the time. I'm due with #3 in January and aria will be 19months and I'm terrified, obviously excited but also a bit sad for aria 🤷🏼‍♀️ my eldest got to do so much with us on her own which is why we waited for #2, to give the baby the chance to have that experience while my eldest was at school. Obviously now there till be 2 of them #2 and #3 aren't going to have that experience. Also aria has never even seen another baby thanks to covid and spending 7 months in lock down in the UK so we have no idea how she will react 😂

We waited until our baby was 10 months before trying. I wouldn't have minded trying sooner, but my husband was going through cancer treatment and we couldn't ttc with him on it, and he had to be off it for 3 months before we could try. Anyways, I was 14 months pp when I got pregnant (it was 5 cycles though). I like the close age gap though. We didn't have much of a choice though because if we wanted to have more kids, it was then or never due to my husband's cancer treatment (it's a long story). But they're 21 months apart (she was born almost 2 months early) and I just feel it's a perfect age gap for me, as my toddler is more independent and having them closer in age can be easier to parent as they grow up, in my opinion. But there are many pros to waiting too, and giving them a bigger age gap. But personally, I just like having them close. I so would love to have a 3rd. I feel ready, like, now haha. My baby is 7 months old, but I had a c-section (so pregnancies should be longer in between) and my husband does not want anymore at all, so definitely no more for now. But I would be excited to try for another now if he wanted to and if I didn't have a c-section!

It’s up to you. As long as your husband is on the same page then go for it. If you are still unsure, then consult your doctor about it and see what they says about it. For me, I had a C section one year ago so I couldn’t try for a baby ASAP until the scar inside is fully healed so I can go ahead and try for another baby. But sadly, my fiancé is not ready for baby number 2 yet 😭 so I will just wait patiently until he is ready for try with me. Lucky you!

Thank you all lol. I want mine close in age, but not too close, but I also feel envious of all my friends that are pregnant and about to have their babies lol. I miss being pregnant, even though it was torture, and oddly enough I miss labor and delivery, and most of all that first moment of having her on my chest. I often find myself crying when I see the scenario on tv or Facebook or anywhere 😂
