Period while pregnant?

I got a positive pregnancy test last week but I started my period yesterday. I am bleeding, not super heavily but enough that I used 2 tampons. I have cramps and I feel emotional like I do during my period. I took another test yesterday and it also was positive. Does anyone know what could be going on?

This could be a chemical pregnancy. So you were pregnant and the fertilised egg hasn’t managed to stick in place, so it’s led to your period. You will still get a positive test due to the hormones still being in your system x

I just got a blood test Thursday and am waiting for the results. Would the blood tests know if I had a miscarriage?

You can’t have a true period and be pregnant.
Some spotting or bleeding can be normal in early pregnancy, but it could also be a chemical pregnancy.
Go to your doctor and ask for a blood test.
