Mom Brain 🤦‍♀️

So my kids normally wear cloth diapers because my 3 y/o was allergic to disposables as a baby. He is potty trained now.

Our dryer plug shorted out recently and while we are waiting on a replacement, I have my 2 year old and 3 month old in disposables. And since I'm not knowledgeable with disposables, I bought the wrong size for my 2 year old. I bought 5s, which are very slightly tight on him. And my 3 month old is in size 3s.

Well, my 2 year old has been taking off these diapers. And earlier today, he took them one off right as I was cooking dinner. So I hurriedly put him in a new diaper, thinking "dang, these feel even tighter than I thought." And he was acting particularly bothered by the diaper, which didn't really make me think anything other than he just isn't used to disposables in general. He doesn't speak yet, BTW. So he can't really voice if or why he is uncomfortable.

Then my 3 year old kept asking why he was in that diaper. And I reminded him the dryer broke and he has to be in those until we fix it. And he goes, "the baby's diapers? NO, NO, Mama."

So not paying attention, I'd shoved my 28 pound 2 year old into a size 3 diaper. He has a big booty, but a little waist. So he was walking around with an only slightly tight fit in the waist, but both butt cheeks hanging out! I felt so bad because I know it had to be irritating for his thighs and sure enough he had red marks on his thighs.
