Booster seat??!!

Question

Are your kids still in car seats? Or have they upgraded to booster seats? My daughter is 3 and some ppl are telling me that she should be in a booster seat. I think it’s too soon.

I believe most guidelines recommended keeping them in a car seat until they’re at least 4, but preferably longer. I believe it’s recommended to keep them in a forward facing car seat until they reach the weight limit, which is usually between 55-65lbs so our kiddos have a while to go. I wouldn’t trust my son to ride in a car without a 5point harness because he’s wild lol.

She is definitely not ready for a booster. Max out the weight of the forward facing seat and then she’ll officially have graduated from the five point harness system...which should be at least another couple of years. Whoever is telling you to put her in a booster probably don’t realize the guidelines suggested as they are kind of new to people who’s kids are grown. My son is 3 and it was a battle just getting people to realize he needed to stay rear facing until he maxed out that part of his seat.

She's still in a 5pt harness, Graco 4ever. She'll be in a 5pt harness for as long as she can, then a booster. 
My middle daughter is a small 11.5 year old, and she is still in a booster seat (65lbs, 4'5").

Booster seat requires minimum of 40 pounds so if u really need an upgrade or the kiddo outgrew his car seat and he fits the requirements there is nothing wrong. My 3 year old daughter is 98 percentile so she is very tall and wearing 5t clothes but only 38 pounds so I know she is not ready for booster but there are many bigger kids who are.
