Incorrect Intrauterine Pregnancy Diagnosis

Anaviya • Mother of 4, 3 girls 1 boy. Expecting our #5 in January 2024 & hoping for another boy to kinda even the waters lol Congratulations to everyone & good luck! 💕

Our first appointment we were told that all they could see was an empty sac and a cyst. We were also told that we should make a decision on whether or not we were gonna get a D&C or take the pill to bring on a miscarriage. I decided I wanted to wait & see if the baby would grow before I made such a big decision so they gave us a week.

After about four days from our first visit, I started to cramp and bleed really heavy while grocery shopping. I was so sure that the dr was right & that my body realized it was an “abnormal pregnancy” & started the miscarriage on its own (which is something he said could also happen). I was rushed to the ER & turns out I was actually having contractions! I had a sub chronic hemorrhage that had bursted, so no miscarriage, but it hurt like one! I couldn’t even walk or move a little without hurting. I had an ultrasound done & we saw one sac w a baby but a low heart rate of 108 so I was scared for my baby. She was also able to tell me that the “cyst” was not actually a cyst, but a sac.

We saw BOTH our HEALTHY babies at an OB appointment 3 days later 🥳💕
