Anyone else feel protective with their baby?

My little guy was born on 10/19. It was a quick labor, 6 hours of labor with 5 minutes of pushing. Got home last night, and people are already asking when they can come over. 
Really? 1) pandemic 2) we just got home 3) my lady bits still hurt. 
The asking to come over annoys me, instead of them waiting to be asked to come over. 
Makes me wanna hoard my baby.

First off Birthday Buddies! Second, congrats momma on your beautiful boy! And third, I totally feel you on this just want to keep them protected and away from all the bad germs. It's best to wait until we ask for them to come over. We just had a baby the least they can do is give us time and be patient.

I found that having a baby is a lot like planning your wedding. No one actually thinks it’s about you! It’s about you accommodating them. Here you are boob out, drugged up from surgery, and fighting  to stay awake and 800 people want to come see your baby and hold them. 
I had so many visitors when I had my first born that I am honestly half glad for the no visitor rule this time around. Even worse to have people want to come to your home cause you feel like you have to entertain.

On my first day coming home and fresh from a csection I had a house full of people. I felt like crap and they were so loud, stand your ground because I wasn’t even aware of my visitors till it was too late.

With my first born I regretted so badly not telling ppl no. I should have told them i was in pain and tired instead I sucked it up and didn’t say a word. Some ppl came and went others stood more than 8 hrs at my home just talking. When they left I cried so bad because I didn’t hold my baby for the entire day as a mom you Need that bond and as a first time mom i didn’t know that. So please do you and baby a favor and say no tell them to give you two days blame it on the doctors lol tell them doctors orders im sure doctors would be glad anyway because of covid its safer less contact. But definitely you need that bond with your baby! I let my family come and I wasn’t able to breastfeed I was stressed about it and because of that not even pumping worked I couldn’t breastfeed my first born i was sad for the longest time because of this. This time around im breastfeeding or pumping and alot happier telling ppl to come later on and not letting all come just sending pics is enough

With my first we had people at the hospital constantly and that was annoying. I had an unplanned csection and was super emotional. However, before my son was here we made it apparent to everyone that we wanted 1 week of time to ourselves. We didn’t have anyone over for that first week. It was really nice.

Waiting on baby girl to arrive but I’ve already told family that we’d like a day or two once home to get settled and we will let them know when we are good to have visitors.

I felt the same way. People wanted to visit in the hospital after my csection .. I said no bc id like to recover, I mean I couldn’t even feel my own legs for the rest of the day. The day we came home we already had visitors. & I hate saying no bc it makes me feel so guilty so now I’m just having anxiety about it😩 do what makes you comfortable!
