Period late by 2 months.

So back in August at the end of the month I had this brown discharge. No blood clots it never filled a pad or panty liner and it wasn’t red. That lasted for about 2 days usually my period lasts for four days, so I thought that was weird. My boyfriend and I are trying to get pregnant and I still have not had my period since then. When I pee on a stick I see a faint line on some tests and then on another it is negative so I don’t exactly know what is going on. Should I get blood work done to see if that will confirm if I am pregnant? Or should I continue to just wait it out. I am irregular so I never know when I’m ovulating or when I get my period it’s just weird how I haven’t had my period in 2 almost 3 months. Should I contact my OBGYN. Would like some advice!
