Covid rant 😩
So we have followed the same precautions since March: we mostly see friends and families outdoors. If we are indoors, we all mask up. Those who hold Everett mask up and wash hands always.
This weekend, my sister-in-law got married. In our state, masks are required indoors, and gatherings are limited to 10 people or less, I assumed these rules would be followed.
I was shocked to arrive at the rehearsal dinner and see 30 people indoors, small enclosed room, without a single mask in sight. My husband and I turned right around with our kids and politely excused ourselves.
My in-laws got upset about me being “controlling” and us “living in fear.” We reminded them that we just aren’t comfortable with being indoors with a bunch of people without masks.
Unfortunately, we were not able to attend the reception for this reason, and now everyone in his family is so mad at me. My father in law yelled at us sarcastically after the ceremony in front of everyone, “BYE SARAH AND [HUSBAND]! HAVE A GREAT NIGHT!”
PS He also told our 11 year old that if we aren’t around, our son does not have to wear a mask. 😩😩😩
