Spotting for 8 days

I’m due on in 3 days and for last 8 days I’ve been spotting or more so when I wipe. I’ve been to doctors today she’s had a look as I felt a pea size lump on my cervix she had a look and said the lump is a white cyst which will probably disappear on its own. She said the bleeding is from my womb and not the cervix as I was paranoid I have cervical cancer. She said my cervix looks normal.. shes told me to wait for my period to come and see what happens after it finishes If it continues to go back and see her.

What could it be? She spoke about not ovulating etc
