6 week old, maybe spoiled?

Hey ladies, I’m a FTM. My baby girl is 6 weeks 4 days old.. & now she will cry if she’s not held and comforted and also sometimes looks away and will start crying and I feel so bad, like is something hurting her or does she see something, it makes me so sad. She has a hard time actually sleeping through now... she likes to be held to go to bed and if you move her she instantly wakes up. Idk what to do, any tips or anything?

You can’t really spoil them. But a tip if you have a swing use it. Feed her and wait til she is drowsy and put her in the swing. If you use a pacifier give that to her turn the swing on and if she gets inconsolable give her the paci back and turn the vacuum on. You can even try warming a towel in the drier too to help keep her warm. My baby is 5 weeks and those are things I do.

Unfortunately that’s just how it goes. They’re still getting used to the world so they need a lot of comforting and cuddles. It does get frustrating sometimes but I just have to keep telling myself it won’t last for ever.. soon enough they’ll be playing with toys and able to be entertained not needing snuggles as often.

You guys are going to call me crazy, I let her sleep in bed with us. I tried her bassinet, but I just don’t feel safe because she’s so little still... I’m more comfortable with her right in bed with me so I can monitor her. We have a California king bed, so it’s plenty of space we aren’t crowded on her. But I’m going to try and start a routine with her.. see if it helps a little, I am guilty of letting her sleep all day because I’m so tired from being up all night, but I’m sure that’s part of why she’s up all night also. Goodness parenting is hard, but I love it 💖

My now 6 week old started doing this at 5 weeks. He went from practically putting himself to sleep in his crib to crying every time I put him down in it. After trying all kinds of different things the only solution I found was to put the dockatot in his crib and have him sleep in that and now he sleeps close to 4 hours at a time. I was very hesitant to do this however because it’s not recommended but after doing some research I found out that it’s actually marketed in other countries as a sleepyhead pod and is recommended for sleeping in so I felt a little bit better about using it. Plus we use the nanit monitoring system for a little bit more peace of mind. Also my husbands cousin used one for co-sleeping without any issues.

try to double swaddle? In the hospital the nurses would double swaddle and she has slept well I had to wake to feed her and it helped her go right back to sleep
On fussier nights I make sure to put her in a sleep sack. Then we cuddle or rock her to sleep with a paci. If she flinches when we put her down, we put white noise machine on and make sure that paci doesn’t fall out of her mouth lol. She will go right back to sleep. The white noise tops it all off lol
There’s also a swaddle technique that keeps a paci in the mouth through the night. There is a blanket for this technique but I can’t remember the name of the brand!!
