Up for promotion, just found out I’m pregnant
My boss has recommended me for a promotion but his higher-ups have asked for a 6 month sort of trial period as we’re currently in the process of adding a bunch of new people to the team and shifting some responsibilities around so they want to see how that’s going to work out first.
The complication is that I found out a week ago that I’m pregnant so I’ll be about 7 months along when they make this call and I’m so worried that’s going to impact their decision. I would say that the organization I work for is extremely progressive but I can’t help but worry that subconsciously they’ll fault me for the fact that I’ll be taking maternity leave 2 months after being promoted.
I’m so exited that I’m finally going to be a mom and also excited for the potential of this promotion.
I guess I’m looking for advice on how to prove to them that even with a baby on the way I’m a good investment. Any tips?
