Any Nov ‘18 kiddos not talking yet?

Question

My son says a handful of words but isn’t talking talking or putting words together. He also does not repeat words that we ask him to say. Anyone else? I’m worried but he shows zero signs for autism, I had him screened for it at his last checkup.

Children develop language at different rates. Having one characteristic of Autism would not imply he is in the spectrum. You could always have a speech pathologist assess his language abilities to see if his receptive/expressive language abilities are far below average and then decide on how to proceed.

My son (2 tomorrow) has been in speech therapy since September and it's made SO much difference. He was only saying "ew", "Dada", and "uh oh" in August and signing more and all done. Now we've got some 2 word phrases ("more please") and he's much more open to repeating what we ask.
One thing the speech therapist said it's that she thinks he knows a lot more than he will say, but we had to figure out how to unlock it. My son is really motivated by games, so he plays "mechanical bull" with his dad. He has to repeat a word and then he rides on my husband's leg (waving it around like a mech bull) until he falls off. If he asks for more he has to repeat another word.

My little guy doesn’t say a lot of words yet, he will try to repeat stuff but isn’t talking much. He babbles a lot though so I’m not too worried. My nephew brother and husband were all late talkers but once they started at age 3 they never stopped lol

My November baby is getting better at talking but I think it’s because he moved to the 2year old room at daycare a few weeks ago. They write on his reports that he is talking a lot more and what he’s saying but he doesn’t really talk a lot at home. He mostly whines 🤣.
But my older son who is now 15 years old was not talking at age 2. He probably had less than 10 words. I took him to early intervention and other specialists and they found nothing wrong. They just said “wait it out.” He eventually started talking a lot actually between age 2.5 and 3 he picked up hundreds of words and could string 3-4 word sentences together. Then he was able to read the following year. I went from having a child who I thought had delays to having a child who was very advanced compared to his peers. You’d be surprised how often that happens! 
If they haven’t found anything wrong with your son, then you just have to give him time. I know you probably hear that all the time haha I remember being so annoyed at first when people would say that with my oldest. But it’s true. Just keep reading to him, talking slowly and let him see your lips when he’s talking. Speech therapists have told me the mask mandates have been a real issue for younger kids who are learning to talk and have communication issues and it will definitely negatively impact the future generation. 
Also, not talking doesn’t mean autism. There are several other more definitive signs of autism that are way more reliable than the lack of speech.

My son has had a speech therapist for a couple months now and has helped a lot! Just look up early Intervention in your area.

My kid seems to be talking fine but I would follow the speech sisters on Instagram. They have tons of free tips and then they also have a free assessment quiz you can take to see if your kid may need extra hell! Then you can also purchase a later talker course if need be!
