Hpv...?

So I went into my gynecologist about a month or two ago, they told me I have hpv, how I still don’t understand. I’ve only slept with 3 people in my life.. however, for almost a week now the sides of my vagina are red and at first it was white but now it’s red and looks irritated, on both sides, ( where my legs meet my vagina area) I’ve been tested for all the other stds and I’m fine I’m clean. Herpes, none etc . So now I’m concerned on what this is and why. If it’s warts how would you know? And what’s your experience with having hpv ?
