Baby has his first tooth - toothpaste?

Question

I’m a FTM and my baby who is 7 months has his first tooth poking out. I’m trying to remember what his doctor said but I vaguely remember her saying to rub a little bit of fluoride on it but I can’t get ahold of her to confirm. What do/did you guys use for your baby’s teeth?

Before we saw the dentist we used just water on the toothbrush. After we used whatever they gave us which I think is kids Crest. Her first dentist appointment was at 8.5 months

So for the first year we used just water and the toothbrush(soft) and then after one year we used the this toothpaste but the version without fluoride. And then after 2 yrs old we started using this exact one with the fluoride. I liked this brand because it didn’t have as much sugar as the rest of the kid’s toothpastes. 
By the way, the doctor will apply a fluoride paste on the baby’s tooth at your next visit. Or he/she should apply it. If they don’t, request it. It’s super sticky but it protects their gorgeous little chompers. They should apply it every time there is a new tooth. I hope this helps.

We use a different toothpaste but couldn't find it so put this one but she doesn't like the texture of toms. They have "training toothpaste" you can use if you want that is safe when ingested. We use an apple one because my child hates having her teeth brushed but she lets us with the apple one. Our city doesn't have fluoride in the water so we were prescribed oral fluoride drops and do those daily. But use a soft brush and either water or a training toothpaste. We wiped down/brushed her gums from a week old then started fluoride drops when she got her first tooth at 11 months.

We used Jack n Jill fluoride-free toothpaste for the first year, then switched to fluoride after that. This is my son’s favorite fluoride toothpaste.
