Helix piercing
So I have a random question. I’ve had this upper helix piercing since January 2020 and it still hasn’t healed. The back is still somewhat swollen even though I clean it pretty often still. The earring post itself doesn’t feel long enough since it goes right up against the back of the ear making it difficult to clean and has a round backing rather than a flat one (which might be better) but I’m afraid to take it out since it hasn’t healed yet but I’m also afraid that it will never heal if I don’t fix the swelling. Additionally I’ve been soaking my ear in cleaning solution which has helped. I feel like it shouldn’t be this difficult to heal since it one of relatively easier piercings yet it’s giving me such a hard time. I don’t sleep on it and avoid bumping it even though it does still occasionally happen.. but it doesn’t explain why there is swelling just in the back but no keloid or irrational bump that I can see which means it mostly likely isn’t infected?? I’m just surprised the swelling has lasted so long. Is it just in a bad spot (it’s a upper helix right against the edge of my ear) or is it the jewelry not being long enough to allow for the swelling to go down. I’m afraid though if it went any longer it would pull easier.. (I doubt it’s from any allergic reaction from the earring metal) or am I allowing it to heal... Any tips?
Also, I’m trying to avoid going to a piercer to look at it unless I really have to.
