What’s wrong with people

So tonight we were out for dinner with my husbands family, my SIL started talking about what she thought of this whole pandemic. She said and I repeat in her own words “the world is over reacting over covid, the people who are dying from it are 80, 90, and 100 years old so they’re going to die soon anyway wether they fed covid or not” 😨 I couldn’t believe it when she said that and I had to bite my tongue as not to start an argument with my in laws. My thoughts on covid is that it’s a serious thing, people are losing their lives and it’s incredibly sad no matter what their age is, my grandmas are both in their 80s and super healthy, I want to make damn sure they don’t catch covid, so I will “over react” over this if that’s what it takes to keep my family safe. My view on her has totally changed now. I may be the odd one out but I think we need to get rid of this virus. I think masks need to be worn, people need to stop having large gatherings and maybe a lock down wouldn’t be a bad idea. If the government could impose a lockdown but still let small businesses run somehow then that would be great. But I don’t get all the anti maskers and the people who think covid is a joke. These past few months I’ve really noticed that not everybody cares about others and this world we live in is honestly messed up.
