Covid and pregnancy

Jane

So...

I had my 16 week midwife appointment over the phone today, and tbh until that point I hadn’t been too worried about COVID having seen that they said it was no worse for pregnant ladies and I have no pre-existing medical conditions and an

uncomplicated pregnancy.

The midwife said today that if I find myself getting a positive test for COVID then I need to contact the hospital immediately. They would get me straight in and I would need to teach me how to inject a medicine to avoid thrombosis for 14 days, as COVID causes the blood to thicken.

I’ve gone from not being worried, to really not fancying this intervention and therefore feeling more exposed (my employer will only allow me to work from home 2 days a week) so around people the rest of the time, and got two kids in school.

Has anyone else experienced this or been given this advice by the NHS?
