Help! Is my boyfriend Insecure and mentally abusive?

I’ve been dating my boyfriend for 3years and recently he’s been arguing with me about things I wear. I love halter tops, leggings, and biker shorts like any normal 23 year old woman. He says I doesn’t respect his feelings about my clothes, but I feel as if he’s wrong so it’s hard to respect his feelings. I don’t wear booty shorts or things to show my breast.I think he’s being controlling and insecure. I need help.

Sometimes it’s important to know a background of a person you are dating because some cultures thinks that is disrespecting a man who you are dating some cultures don’t care, I don’t see abuse here because disagreeing with you don’t make it abusing you. The choice is yours if you want to be with him then make a little changes if you don’t want to be with him just walk away period.

In my opinion, your man should be boosting you up and telling you how gorgeous and beautiful you are and be showering you in complements and just be excited to have such a beautiful woman. I wouldn’t say that he is being abusive but it’s definitely controlling behavior. You just have to decide if that’s something you are willing to put up with from the man in your life. Don’t expect him to change because most likely he won’t.
