A hair dresser said my hair looked good

So... I did the thing you should really never do.

I bleached my hair at home.

After I bleached it like pee yellow, I went over it with a dirty blonde box dye and it turned out great in my opinion.

I had gotten rid of the yellow/golden tints with the dye. Also bought purple shampoo for when the dye started to wash out and my hair started to fade out yellow. It’s really pretty to me. I’m letting my hair rest for a long time, I don’t mind my dark roots. I feel like I kinda traumatized it.

Anyways months later i am at my moms and she lives across the street from a salon and one of the ladies that works there does her hair, she’s done my moms hair for like 10 years so they are friends and she brought one of her kids over and visited my mother. I told her that I did my hair myself because I could not afford to keep it the way I am keeping it if I were to go have it professionally done. Blonde is expensive, and then on top of that I’d have to tip. I wanted what I wanted but a girl couldn’t afford doing it the right way lol.

She said “you didn’t do that yourself.” I said “yeah.. I did.” Kinda like oh shit what’s she gonna say I’m in trouble.

She said “oh, come here let me look.” And so I walked over and sat on my moms bench and she untwisted my bun and started parting it and she’s like “you cut it too?” And I said “yeah but I just cut the ends.”

“This is really good. I was expecting all sorts of uneven patches when your hair came down and I was about to take you back down the street so you didn’t walk around like that but this.. this isn’t bad. Not brassy, it’s even. It’s not fried.

It’s actually pretty healthy. You just need your roots done.”

I have a history of being roasted by hair professionals lol but messing up so much is how I learned how to not make my hair look like vomit or something. As this one girl fixed my messed up hair, she explained to me how I messed it up and what not to do

But anyways yeah, this coming from a woman who’s done hair for over a decade is a huge compliment lol
