Piercing hole feels tighter/smaller?

I’ve had my lip piercing (Ashley piercing) for almost 6 months. It healed great I never had issues. But the past 3-4 days the hole itself feels small or tight. I always twist and mess with my jewelry and it always felt fine but now when I move the jewelry around, it’s painful and I can feel it struggling to get through the hole at all. I can barely budge it. Why could this be?
