Idk what to do 😫

I’ve been talking to this guy for awhile we were talking heavy at one point but now we’re just fucking around. He’s made it somewhat clear that he wants to be friends but his actions are different and give me relationship vibes sometimes. But he has a bm and has told me multiple times “ i love her but I don’t like her “ & they recently split & don’t live with eachother no more but he often “ slips” and calls her his girl when speaking about her sometimes & then says sorry I be forgetting and I know it makes you mad. Should I just say fuck it and stop trying or is there hope I could actually have something long and lasting.
