Umm well to be honest you’re being petty for no reason. I understand you’re young , but “copying” isn’t really a big deal and if I were you I would be flattered if anything. Try not to be so hard on her it shows that she feels bad about herself. And that’s normal for this age, but trust me she could be way worse which she isn’t even bad just sounds like a teenager to me.

I had a friend like this throughout all of high school. She always wanted to compete or copy me. My mom always said “jealous is the biggest form of flattering” and would tell me she just looks up to me and wants to be like me. After years of this, and arguing, I realized it was just a toxic friendship. She’d copy me and say she came up with things, but things I wanted but couldn’t afford, go out with guys I found interest in, etc. As adults she’d try to bring me down with her, copy me when around co-workers/friends (I caught her whenever those people would mingle with our friend group), and she’d lie to people about me/her. I broke it off with her and I’m so glad I did, and wish I had earlier. I think I liked the co-dependency we had for each other- because when it was good it felt like our friendship was unbreakable- but it got to the point where the bad wasn’t worth it.

I agree it can be annoying but I also agree with there other comment that says it’s normal. 
I got into the “blonde on top, black on the bottom” hair trend back in high school and literally every girl in my friend group started copying me. I was just flattered because they must have thought it looked good.
Then this one girl started like copying my poses and selfies and stuff and tried to use me as “bait” to get guys to hang out with her. She even used my selfies to catfish a guy and THAT’S the behavior you should be worried about. I wouldn’t consider her a bad friend by any means, she may not even realize she’s doing it. 🤷🏼‍♀️

It sounds like she is having a rough time.  With the behind the wheel thing it sounds like she was just sharing her accomplishments she wasn't trying to one up you. I think you should ask her if she is okay and be there for her and be fake to her. Speak the truth as long as u do it the right way.

There’s a difference between toxic and healthy relationships. She’s probably a good friend who has gone off the rails and you are probably a good friend who gets annoyed just like any other normal person would. BUT I’d say both of you are participating in the toxicity.
You by keeping someone you clearly do not like around you and her for displaying all her insecurities to you. If you want her in your life you need to talk to her. What’s the worst that could happen? You stop being friends? That’s a plus. If she changes for the better? That’s also a plus.

Taking your insecurities out on somebody else is by definition toxic imo. I have no time for that type of relationship. It is annoying and exhausting, cut your losses while you’re ahead. Unless she is doing serious inner work and going to therapy the relationship is prob not going to get better. Also in my experience high or low self esteem is one of the most contagious traits about a person. Been there done that with insecure friends and acquaintances too many time and now I literally only maintain close relationships with people who actually like themselves on a deep level and enjoy building other people up and my own self esteem has drastically improved. Cant recommend it enough

I know she's annoying, but that's her personality and I hope someday she finds someone that would love and accept her with all of her craziness... coz trying to change someone's personality is just wrong even if they have the crappiest one
