Help with thick toddler hair!

So my girl has realllllllly thick and wavy/curly hair. I have the thinnest, most stick straight hair ever so I’m not used to her hair texture. The top part of her hair is just wavy but the back is really tight ringlet curls. I never know what to do so I just pull it back in a half pony every day, or sometimes pigtails

Any tips on managing thick coarse/curly hair or products to help it? Or hair clips/bows you like?
